I am changing my last name due to marriage, how do I update my mortgage? - marriage name change california

Hello to all! I'm getting married in California and lives in Nevada. This is a gay marriage if my marriage does not mean much in Nevada. The Social Security Administration, marriage in California if the name change, since the Nevada DMV (who has just discovered).

But I have to my name, my mortgage (the country) and with the community for tax purposes, everyone knows how to update?

Normally, you simply send a copy of your marriage certificate and the change for you.

(I've read, not all the answers, which I hope does not repeat)

It depends on whether or not you give up half his fortune, his partner.

If you want it to be everything you need to do is register your name on the title and the title to the mortgage company. Then you have to assume the mortgage payments if they fail to do so.

What if a couple divorce. If the property was one of the two, because you have shared during their marriage, they are at home is the mortgage in the rule.

But if the house belonged to one before marriage, the original owner choose to keep the house in his name alone.

Once the two decide what you want on the property, the cost of legal advice to be very low, how to proceed.

The fundamental decision: Is your partner can get with 1 / 2 of own? Your partner has the responsibility for the mortgage (if I die)? If your partner owns half, as the assets contained in the case of divide?

There is no need to update your mortgage until it is time to renew (if applicable). You're still the same person and still have to repay the loan, even if you change your name.

If the title you want to change the properties, the bank should be informed, to see if they want to change the mortgage, but still legally binding as it is.

Contact Countrywide and ask, but I had my name in the documents, when I married my husband to change. All that was asked what he was, that I) send a formal request to change my name, and a certified copy (not photocopy or fax of the marriage certificate to show proof of the change my name. You do not need any other documents - and if they did, would their new social security card and the license be enough.

Not until you sell the house ... then you have to sign the papers with the new name for the old name. For example ... Laura Wood Laura Thornton Previously ... That's what I had to do ...

If you repeat your loan May, but it is very difficult without real reason. This is not only the action!

You can change its name without getting married, but if you want to change it, simply enter your insurance company with a letter and a copy of marriage certificate, change the name.

Customer Service Call Countrywide and give instructions to update the documents in the Finder to the records. Maybe you need a copy of your official marriage certificate.
